After the real release date comes around and the general masses have access to the game, if then a problem appears rivaling the one that has happened with the current multiplayer, surely you would let people play the game while you fix the issue and afterwards update it? If yes, then why is it not being applied here? That's why you've chosen to use the Early Access approach, is it not? The longer we waited to bring the two branches together, the bigger the problem would get. Updating the "multiplayer branch" would require updates in single player too.
